Privacy Policy
The short version: Unpack processes your archives and files on your device. It requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking. I do not operate a server that receives your files, filenames, passwords, or usage history.
1. Who I am
Unpack is independently developed and operated by an individual developer under the name Yosorable. If you have questions about this policy, contact me at yosora2016@gmail.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Unpack stores and processes the following data locally:
- Archives and other files you import, create, preview, or extract.
- Extracted content and temporary preview files.
- Your recent-file history and app settings.
Archive passwords stay in memory only for the current operation. They are not stored or uploaded. You can manage imported and extracted content in Unpack's Files directory and clear preview data or recent history from the app.
3. No analytics, advertising, or tracking
Unpack contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use an advertising identifier. I do not collect, sell, or use your personal data to track you across apps or websites.
4. Network connections and third-party services
Unpack may use network or system services in these situations:
- Web Transfer creates a temporary server on your local network only when you open that feature. Devices on the same network that can reach the displayed address may view, download, upload, rename, and delete files in Unpack's shared directory while the server is running. The server stops when you close the screen or the app enters the background. Files are not routed through a server operated by me.
- File providers such as iCloud Drive may be involved when you choose or save files through Apple's Files interface. The provider handles its service under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Sharing occurs only when you choose a system Share action. The selected content is then provided to the app, extension, or service you choose, which handles it under its own privacy practices.
- App Store services are used to load optional Supporter purchase information and verify purchase entitlements through StoreKit.
5. Purchases
Optional Supporter purchases are handled by Apple's App Store. I do not receive your payment-card or billing details. Unpack verifies purchase entitlements using StoreKit and does not send transaction details to a server operated by me.
6. Data retention and your choices
Unpack keeps local app data until you delete it or use the available controls to remove it. Deleting Unpack removes its on-device app container. Copies stored by a file provider or included in an iOS or iCloud backup are managed by that provider or by Apple's backup settings.
If you contact me, I receive your email address and the information in your message and use it to respond and provide support. You may ask me to delete that correspondence unless it must be retained for legal or security reasons.
7. Children
Unpack does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app contains no ads, social features, or user accounts.
8. Changes to this policy
If the way Unpack handles data changes, I will update this policy and the date shown at the top of this page.
